To turn the hint on the last piece on/off please do the following:

  • Open up the Options menu within the game.
  • Tap "More Options".
  • To disable the option: Disable Hint on the Last Piece
  • To enable the option: Enable Hint on the Last Piece

Once this is adjusted, your preference should remain for future games.
