Once a meld has been played to the table, any player may choose to lay off cards onto it. Cards can only be laid off in a way that extends the meld. In a Run, another card with the same suit and another consecutive number can be laid off; in a Set, an additional card of the same rank can be laid off. These cards are played one-by-one.
