Trump Suit: The suit that is declared as the most powerful for the round. Cards of this suit outrank all others, with the Jack of the trump suit being the highest card.

Super Jack: The Jack of the trump suit. It is the highest-ranking card in the game.

Big Jack: The Jack of the suit that is the same color as the trump suit. It is the second-highest card in the game.

Trick: A round of play where each player plays one card. The player who plays the highest card of the suit led, or the highest trump card, wins the trick.

Lead: The first card played in a trick. The player who wins the previous trick usually leads the next one.

Maker: The team or player that declares the trump suit. They aim to win at least three tricks in the round.

Defender: The team or player that did not declare trump. They aim to prevent the makers from winning the required number of tricks.

Euchre: When the makers fail to win the required number of tricks (three out of five). The defenders score points instead.

March: When the makers win all tricks (five out of five).

Go Alone: A risky move where a player opts to play without their partner for the round. If successful, it results in higher points.

Pass: Choosing not to Make Trump or to name a different trump suit during the bidding phase.

Make Trump: A bid where a player decides to make the turned-up card the trump suit for the round.

Kitty: The stack of undealt cards, from which the top card is turned face up to determine the trump suit during the bidding phase.

Partner: In a four-player game, the player seated opposite you who is on the same team. You work together to win tricks.

Round: A complete set of five tricks played in a game. Each round involves declaring a trump suit, playing the tricks, and then scoring points.
