“The Crib”
A round begins when players choose two cards from their starting hand to set aside into a "crib" that the dealer will use to score additional points at the end of a round. It is important to note that the owner of the crib alternates with each round of the game until completion.
“The Play”
After selecting two cards to submit to the crib, players will begin the Play phase where they take turns playing the remaining four cards in their hands one after the other, without going over 31. There are many ways to earn points in this phase. For instance, if you play a card to the table that adds up to either 15 or 31 within this phase, you get 2 pts. Since you cannot exceed 31, players must pass their turn if they don't have a valid card to play and a single point is awarded for playing a card last. Playing other combinations of pairs, runs, or multiples will also award points in this phase.
“The Show”
In the later scoring phase, players will have an opportunity to score additional points by using their initial hand of four cards, plus the starter card. Once this is complete, the player who owns the crib for that round will have the opportunity to score additional points with those four cards.
