Basic Rules

Overview

Golf Solitaire Pro Tour is a unique twist on the classic TriPeaks gameplay. Each hole (commonly referred to as a deal) provides you with a unique layout. Your goal is to clear as many of the cards from the board as possible all while trying to use as few cards from your Stockpile as possible. During each hole you have several additional tools at your disposal such as Card Swap, Wildcards, and Mulligan. Achieve the best score to beat other golfers and become the Golf Pro Tour Champion!

General

Each hole starts off with a choice, often referred to as the Opening Drive. Select any card from the board to place it in the Waste Pile. From here, remove additional cards by tapping cards ranked 1 higher or 1 lower than the card currently in the Waste Pile.

If no cards are currently available that meet the above criteria, tap the Stockpile to receive a new card. Continue this pattern until either all cards are removed from the board or no cards are available in the stockpile and no moves can be made.

If cards remain on the board and no Stockpile cards remain, tap the “End Hole” card to view your score and end the hole.

Card Swap

During gameplay, you may tap the current face-up Waste Pile card or the holding area to move it into a holding area. This area, directly next to the waste pile, will store this card for future use. If a card was previously in the holding area, the two cards will change locations. You can continue playing and utilizing the current card in the waste pile as the game will ignore the holding area card. When the time comes when you want to use the card in the holding area, simply tap the waste pile or holding area again to swap the held card back into the waste pile. This will move the current waste pile card to the holding area and the holding area card to the waste pile.

This process can be repeated as many times as the User would like during the game with no penalty or cooldown.

Wild Cards

Wild cards are cards that can be used as any rank.

Each time you begin a new course, you will be provided with three (3) wild cards. These wild cards will not be replenished once used until a new course is started. That means that for 9 holes of a course, you are limited to 3 wild cards. Once a wild card is used, it will be removed and no longer be available.

However, if you decide not to use the wild card once it has been tapped on and placed in the waste pile, you may tap it again to return it to the wild card area. If the card swap is used to return a card to the waste pile, the Wild Card will also be placed back into it’s holding area and not be consumed.

Additionally, wild cards will not stack. If you complete a course with 1 wild card remaining, the next course will not begin with 4 and instead begin with the normal 3 wild cards.

Tips on Using

Wild cards are great to use when you can extend a long chain of cards, removing many cards in the process! Another place to use wild cards is when there is only 1 card left on the board and clearing it would provide you a better score.

Mulligan

Mulligan is simply an Undo of the last move made.

Each time you begin a new course, you will be provided with one (1) mulligan. Mulligans do not stack and you can only have one per hole.

A few notes on using mulligans.

  • A mulligan will not count swapping cards to the holding area as a move. If mulligan is used when a card swap was the last move, it will perform the swap function AND the previous move

  • As previously mentioned, mulligan will return a wild card to its holding area if it was the last move made.

  • A mulligan cannot be used to return to the Opening Drive

Tips on Using

Since you earn a new mulligan at the start of each new hole, don’t be afraid to use it every hole. If you feel that you made a mistake, or missed an available move, use mulligan and earn a better score!

End Hole Card

Once you’ve exhausted all of your cards from the stockpile, an End Hole card will appear in its place. This card will display the score that will be achieved if you tap it based on the current board state.

However, be careful to not tap it too early! Examine the board to ensure that you have made all possible moves. Also, don’t forget to use wild cards.

Scoring

Scoring in Golf Solitaire Pro Tour is very unique and resembles real golf. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a golf expert to understand! The basic idea is that lower scores (-1, -2, etc) are better than higher scores (+1, +2, etc). To achieve better scores, clear as many cards from the board as possible while saving as many cards in the stockpile as possible.

During each hole, the top HUD will display a real time update of your score. As you remove cards from the board, the positive (+) scores will disappear. On the opposite end, as you remove stockpile cards the negative (-) scores will disappear. Based on the Par of the hole, a different range of scores will be available. For example, on a Par 4 hole you can score anywhere from -3 to +4.

Below are the available types of scores you can get:

  • Hole in One

  • Eagle (-2)

  • Birdie (-1)

  • Par (0)

  • Bogey (+1)

  • Double Bogey (+2)

  • Triple Bogey (+3)

  • Quadruple Bogey (+4)

Event Leaderboard

At the end of each hole, your cumulative score will be added together and compared versus the other 35 golfers. You’ll see where you rank and if you’ve changed rankings after each hole.
