A player can Knock on any turn that they have 10 or less deadwood, including the first. If a player has any Deadwood after Knocking, a card must be discarded so scoring can take place; after the knocking player discards, each player's Deadwood is compared and one of several situations will happen that determine the score of the round. Additional rounds are played until a player reaches 100 points.

Big Gin:
  • If the knocking player has no Deadwood before discarding (meaning every card is a part of a Meld) they don't discard and have gone "Big Gin". In this case, the knocking player earns points equal to their opponent's total Deadwood as well as 31 bonus points for going Big Gin.
Gin:
  • If the knocking player has no remaining Deadwood after discarding, they receive a Gin bonus. In this case, the knocking player gets points equal to the difference in the remaining Deadwood as well as 25 bonus points for going Gin.

Undercut:
  • If the knocking player’s Deadwood value is equal to or greater than their opponent's Deadwood value, they have been Undercut. In this case, their opponent gets points equal to the difference in the remaining Deadwood as well as 25 bonus points(or 10 bonus points, depending on your Settings) for Undercutting.
Knocking:
  • If none of the above situations are met, the knocking player simply gets points equal to the difference in the remaining Deadwood.
