Winning additional tricks can sometimes prevent the opposing team from making their bid. Extra tricks are always worth one additional point. If the “Sandbag Penalty” setting is enabled, your partner will try to avoid taking extra tricks in some situations; when that setting is off, your partner will win as many tricks as possible.
